Honoring Veterans and Supporting Military Families Through Adoption Celebrating Service, Sacrifice, and Family

Each year on Veterans Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. Their dedication, strength, and courage protect the freedoms that make family and community life possible.
At Tate Healey Webster, we extend that gratitude beyond words by supporting service members and veterans who open their hearts through adoption. Military families embody resilience, compassion, and commitment—qualities that make them extraordinary parents to children in need of stable, loving homes.

Adoption Benefits for Military Families

Military service members and veterans who pursue adoption have access to important programs that can help ease the cost of building a family.

Federal Adoption Reimbursement Program

Active-duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces may qualify for up to $2,000 per adopted child, or up to $5,000 per year, through the Department of Defense Adoption Reimbursement Program. This benefit covers eligible adoption expenses such as legal fees, home studies, and travel.

Florida State Adoption Benefits for Veterans

In addition to federal reimbursement, the State of Florida provides special adoption incentives for veterans and active-duty military families. Under Florida Statute 409.1664, qualifying service members and veterans who adopt a child from Florida’s child welfare system may receive a lump-sum payment of $10,000 or $25,000 per child, depending on the child’s circumstances and special needs.
These programs reflect a shared commitment to ensuring that military families have the support they need to provide permanent, loving homes for children in foster care.
