Our Florida-based firm was honored to participate in the 2025 American Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys (AAAA) Midyear Conference in Savannah, Georgia, which is a premier national gathering of professionals advancing adoption and assisted reproductive technology (ART) law.
We were proud to have four of our attorneys in attendance including Erica T. Healey, Robert L. Webster, Kevin J. Healey, and Molly McCarthy. In addition, Board-Certified Florida Adoption Attorneys Erica T. Healey and Robert L. Webster were honored to be selected as presenters at this year’s conference.
Their session, “When It’s Not All Rainbows & Sunshine: How to Navigate the Storms of a Contested Adoption,” provided practical guidance on the complexities of contested adoptions in Florida and beyond, focusing on biological parents’ rights, the role of putative father registries, and strategies to preserve the record for appeal. The presentation reflected the firm’s deep experience in Florida adoption litigation, termination of parental rights, and adoption finalization.
Throughout the conference, our attorneys engaged in cutting-edge sessions on topics such as:
-
Ethics and Risk Management in adoption and ART law.
-
Agency Counsel and Compliance under state and federal adoption frameworks.
-
Legislative and Insurance Updates in ART, impacting surrogacy and donor agreements nationwide.
-
Post-Adoption Contact Agreements (PACAs) and the evolution of open adoption practices.
-
Parentage and Estate Planning in ART, bridging reproductive law with long-term family planning.
As active members of the AAAA, our Florida adoption and ART attorneys are proud to be part of the national dialogue shaping the future of family formation law. We remain committed to ethical, informed, and compassionate advocacy, helping clients across Florida achieve secure and successful adoptions and assisted reproductive arrangements.
