Board Certified Adoption Attorney

Erica Tate Healey is a board-certified adoption attorney and the managing partner of Tate Healey Webster, the largest law firm in Florida devoted exclusively to adoption and assisted reproductive technology (ART) law.

With offices throughout Florida and a reputation for excellence, Erica leads a powerhouse team focused on helping children and families find permanency through compassionate, effective legal work.

Full-Spectrum Adoption and Assisted Reproductive Law Representation

Her practice spans the full spectrum of adoption and ART services—including contested adoption litigation and appeals, termination of parental rights proceedings, stepparent and relative adoptions, interstate (ICPC) adoptions, adult adoptions, re-finalization of international adoptions, search and reunion matters, and DCF interventions and finalizations. Erica’s clients include adoptive parents, agencies, and professionals across the state.

Statewide Leadership and Recognized Advocacy

Erica is a Fellow of the prestigious Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys (AAAA) and an active member of the Florida Adoption Council, and she has presented at statewide and nationwide conferences. She also serves on the Florida Bar’s Adoption Law Certification Committee and served on the Florida Statewide Adoption Protocol Panel, helping shape statewide procedures that streamline finalizations and improve permanency outcomes for children in care.

A proud double Gator, Erica earned both her B.S. in Business Administration and her J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif, served on the Florida Law Review, and received numerous academic honors including Deans’ List for all semesters and the prestigious Law Review’s award of the Frank Maloney Award for Outstanding Candidate in her class.

After graduating, she served as a law clerk for the Honorable Charles R. Wilson on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and quickly rose through the ranks as a federal litigator—becoming a shareholder at Banker Lopez Gassler P.A. at a young age. Since transitioning into full-time adoption practice, Erica has been honored as a Florida Super Lawyers Rising Star every year since 2015, and continues to be recognized for her tireless advocacy, professionalism, and heart.
