Organizations Offering Financial Assistance to Adoptive Families

Many nonprofit organizations offer grants, fundraising assistance, or financial support to families pursuing adoption. Each organization has its own eligibility requirements, application process, and funding limits.

  • Forever Home Foundation. Grants are available for major expenses associated with legal adoption, including public and private agency adoptions, domestic or international.   • Extend Your Tent. Extend Your Tent provides financial, informational, and spiritual resources to Christian families interested in adoption. Support is offered through educational programs, social media, and church-based classes.
  • The Orphan Foundation. Provides grants of $1,250 to families who have completed a home study and can demonstrate that a grant would make the difference in achieving an adoption.
  • Help Us Adopt. A national nonprofit providing adoption grants of up to $15,000 to qualified individuals and couples, regardless of race, marital status, gender, sexual orientation, or religion.
  • Tinina Q. Cade Foundation (TQCF). Provides grants of up to $10,000 for adoption or fertility treatment. Grants are awarded twice per year, subject to available funding.
  • Jaya Laxmi Co. / 123Fundraising.net. A fundraising organization that helps prospective adoptive parents raise funds for adoption. No upfront fees; families must have completed a home study and be affiliated with a legitimate adoption entity.
  • Gift of Adoption Fund. Provides adoption assistance grants of up to $15,000 for domestic, international, foster care, and relative adoptions, without discrimination.
  • A Child Waits Foundation. Offers grants up to $7,000 and adoption loans up to $10,000 at a fixed 3% interest rate for domestic and international adoptions.
  • Lifesong International. Offers matching grants and interest-free loans to help Christian families overcome financial barriers to adoption.
  • Sacred Selections. Provides financial assistance to Christian couples pursuing adoption.
  • AdoptTogether “Fundraising Grant”. Allows families to fundraise through a tax-deductible platform, with donations awarded as grants.
  • The Buescher Foundation. Provides domestic adoption grants assessed quarterly.
  • Hand in Hand Christian Adoption, Inc. Provides financial assistance to adoptive families through community-based fundraising.
  • Family Formation Charitable Trust. Provides financial assistance for adoption and assisted reproductive technology through the Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproductive Attorneys.
  • The Tim Tebow Foundation. Supports children and families through faith-based outreach initiatives.
  • The NEXT Family. Provides financial support to LGBTQ+ families, particularly gay men pursuing parenthood.
  • JSC Foundation. Assists Christian couples facing financial hardship in adoption.
  • Show Hope. Provides grants and support to families pursuing adoption worldwide.
  • St. Frances Fund (Heart of Adoptions Alliance, Inc.). Provides interest-free loans that are repaid once families receive adoption tax credits.
  • Jewish Fertility Foundation. Provides financial assistance and emotional support to Jewish families experiencing infertility.
  • We Adopt, Too. Provides adoption grants to Black families seeking to adopt.
  • Yes We Adopt. Supports families pursuing adoption through education and advocacy, with an emphasis on openness when appropriate.

Government, Military, and Employer Adoption Benefits


Florida State Employee, Veteran, and Service Member Adoption Benefits

Florida law (§409.1664, Florida Statutes) extends adoption benefits to qualifying state employees, veterans, and service members who adopt through the state’s child welfare system. Eligible families may receive:

  • $10,000 per child with special needs
  • $5,000 per child without special needs

Military Subsidy

Active-duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces may be eligible for a $2,000 adoption subsidy per child. Check with your base commander for details.

Ongoing Adoption Subsidy

Monthly maintenance payments and reimbursement of non-recurring expenses may be available for children who qualify as having special needs under Florida law.

Employer Adoption Benefits

Many employers offer adoption assistance, including reimbursements, paid or unpaid leave, and referral services. Families should consult their HR department for details.
