There are many families who would love to adopt but do not take that first step because of the financial hurdles that lay before them. They see these cost challenges and often put the brakes on any further thoughts of adoption. There is good news! The attorneys at Jeanne T. Tate, P.A. want you to know that you don’t have to fret, as there are numerous resources that can help you achieve adoption.
In our brand-new blog, Board Certified Adoption Attorney Jeanne Tate answers one of the most commonly asked questions:
Question: Can I get financial assistance to adopt?
Jeanne Tate: We have been very successful in obtaining financial assistance for our clients, whether they adopt privately or through the public welfare system. Our firm and our agency encourage our clients to apply for grants, and we are here to assist them with the application process where needed. Forever Home Foundation just awarded one of our clients $10,000, and we have received over $100,000 of assistance in the past 12 months from other organizations as well.
We have a large list of resources for clients to view on our website, and we are certainly more than happy to discuss these options as well as others with you. I frequently say that I don’t want money to stand in the way of adoption. Because of this mentality, we do a lot of pro bono work, including on all cases assigned by Bay Area Legal Services.
