About Our Presenters
Jennifer Flowers
Jennifer Flowers, MBA, Founder & CEO of Accreditation Guru, Inc., is an accreditation and nonprofit management expert. With more than 20 years dedicated to working in the accreditation and nonprofit arenas, Jennifer is exceptionally qualified to assist organizations to become nationally accredited. She and her team of expert consultants help a variety of organizations in human and social services, including adoption service providers (domestic and intercountry), navigate the road to (re)accreditation.
Prior to founding Accreditation Guru in 2009, she served as the Director of Accreditation Commission and Volunteer Services at the Council on Accreditation (COA). During her tenure at COA, she oversaw the initial Hague accreditation site visit and Commission implementation efforts. Jennifer is certified in Nonprofit Board Education by BoardSource.
Jayne Schmidt
Jayne Schmidt is a Social Worker and founder of the Center for Excellence in Adoption Services, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the experience and outcomes for children, families, and communities impacted by intercountry adoption. Jayne has over 18 years of experience in public policy centered in the development of standards of best practice and the administration of a federal regulatory accreditation program. She developed and managed the Intercountry Adoption Accreditation Programs at the Council on Accreditation and led initiatives to update COA’s child welfare and adoption accreditation standards. Ms. Schmidt served as an Educational Coordinator and provided field instruction for MSW students.
Nicole Skellenger
Nicole Skellenger is an attorney with Dempsey Law, PLLC, a law firm focused on adoption. Nicole joined Dempsey Law in 2019 where she serves adoption agencies, adoptive families, birth families, and adoptees. Nicole has worked in the field of adoption since 2008 holding various roles, including Executive Director of an intercountry adoption agency. Following her agency work, Nicole stepped into the role of representing agencies and individuals involved in adoption. Nicole is a licensed attorney in both Indiana and Florida and is considered an authority in intercountry adoption agency compliance matters. In 2021, Nicole became a partner of Dempsey Law, an interstate law firm. Nicole provides domestic adoption services in Florida. Nicole believes that all children are worth fighting for and are deserving of a loving permanent family.
